Education
Attending a welding school is an excellent idea. A typical welding program takes between a year to two years, depending on where you go. Many community colleges have welding degree programs as well. Also, you may be able to find a job while still in school, or have one lined up for you when you finish the program. The advantage of going to a welding school is the ability to specialize in specific fields.
Job Security
Experienced, credentialed, and insured welders will always be in demand. You get to be a part of a continuously changing industry that allows you to continue to learn even after years and years of experience.
